Job summary
Job Title: Band 7 Sonographer
Trust: Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, RG1 5AN
Ward: Maternity Ultrasound
Pay Rates: Competitive Pay
Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours p/w, Monday/Thursday 08.00-18.00, Friday 08.00-17.30
The Role:
We are looking for Reporting Sonographers to come and join our team at the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust, we can offer flexible working hours to suit your availability.
We require you to have a PG Certificate in Medial Ultrasound (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from a CASE-accredited institution. We're a small, committed team with a strong learning culture, high clinical standards, and a genuine appreciation for specialist skill and can offer high levels of support in the workplace.
Main duties of the job
Use advanced clinical judgement to enable independent decision making and to independently undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging and to formulate and issue clinical reports.
Participate in the identification and development of clinical protocols and strategies relevant to the service
Work effectively maintaining own specialist expertise and professional knowledge, sharing knowledge and expertise where required and support the department Lead in ensuring that junior staff are mentored and supported and that the day to day running of the department is in line with policies and procedures.
To assist in training of trainee sonographers and to act as a professional role model for junior staff.
Contribute to risk management process, incident reporting and management and management of complaints and place the patients experience at the core of service delivery.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
HCPC Registration as a Sonographer.
BSc Degree in Radiology or equivalent radiographic qualification.
CASE accredited qualification in Medical Ultrasound.
Experience
Essential
Post Graduate Ultrasound experience.
