Job Title: Lead Cardiac Radiographer MRI
Department: Radiology (MRI Cardiac)
Location: Cromwell Hospital, 164-178 Cromwell Road, Kensington SW5 0TU
Permanent / Contract: Permanent
Salary range: £Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Full time/part time: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
(3 long days as part of a rolling roster).
Additional Information: The department is open at weekends with shifts allocated on an overtime basis.

About The Cromwell Hospital
The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receive both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare outpatient and inpatient service care. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, theatres, medical and surgical wards, cardiac centre, CDU, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and a new cath lab.
Our new modern Radiography department is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology to include;
Two general X-Ray rooms
One fluoroscopy suite, which can also be utilised as an additional X-Ray room
One Cone Beam CT scanner
One Bone Density scanner with advanced body composition analysis capabilities
Two state-of-the-art mobile X-Ray units
Four theatre image intensifiers
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Deputising to the Superintendent, the Lead Cardiac MRI Radiographer will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day delivery and leadership of our Cardiac MRI service.
You'll work autonomously, using advanced specialist Cardiac MRI skills to adapt scans to individual patient needs, ensuring the highest standard of diagnostic imaging.
Collaborating closely with Consultant Radiologists, Cardiologists, CMR specialists, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will ensure an efficient, responsive and safe imaging service for all patients—including those with acute cardiac issues.
You will also contribute significantly to the wider MRI service, supporting operational decisions, staff development and service improvement initiatives.
You’ll help us make health happen by
Lead, deliver and maintain training programmes for MRI staff (including specialist Cardiac MRI training).
Support recruitment, supervision, mentorship and professional development of MRI Radiographers.
Drive continuous quality improvement within the Cardiac MRI service.
Lead and participate in clinical audits and contribute to clinical governance meetings.
Ensure accurate data management, RIS/PACS integrity and revenue billing accuracy.
Act as the Clinical Lead for Cardiac MRI, ensuring a high‑quality, patient‑focused service.
Perform advanced cardiac MRI examinations, autonomously adapting protocols and parameters.
Manage and prioritise the daily Cardiac MRI workload, ensuring seamless patient flow.
Undertake IV cannulation and contrast administration in line with departmental protocols.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Essential
BSc or DCR in Radiography.
Significant MRI experience, including specialist Cardiac MRI exposure.
Evidence of ongoing CPD.
Strong communication, organisational and decision‑making skills.
Ability to work autonomously and under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in health management or advanced clinical practice.
Further MRI education.
Cannulation certification.
Previous supervisory or management experience within MRI.
