Job Overview
Seeking a consultant breast radiologist for a part time position in a general hospital which provides secondary medical and surgical services to the southern region of the North Island of New Zealand. This job is suitable for a radiologist accredited in breast screening with experience in all forms of breast imaging, including mammography, breast ultrasounds, and ultrasound-guided biopsies.

Position Highlights

• 0.8 FTE, permanent role in public sector secondary care hospital providing some tertiary services
• Teaching Hospital affiliated with 2 medical schools
• University city in the north island of New Zealand
• BreastScreen Coast to Coast (BSCC) is one of the eight lead providers for the national BreastScreen Aotearoa programme
• radiology department carrying out 96,000 radiological examinations per year with an interesting and varied workload.
• Regional services include: Oncology, Breast Screening, Nephrology and Urology, with specialist clinics held at the hospital including Respiratory, Rheumatology, and Paediatrics. Visiting specialists from Wellington attend the hospital for Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic surgery.
• up to date equipment including CT, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, DSA, and seven general digital radiography rooms and Nuclear Medicine with two gamma cameras.
• Excellent CME facilities
• Full support from junior medical staff
• Clinical and educational duties

Professional Requirements

• FRANZCR or equivalent specialist qualification in diagnostic radiology
• eligible for vocational registration in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
